Solvent Based Organoclay Rheological Additive CP-MP
CP-MP is a new style of organo clay rheological additive made from bentonite. It is used in solvent and resin systems covering low polarity to high polarity range.

Application
Paints including top grades paint, decorative paint, industrial paint.
Inks
Grease, especially recommended in greases based on synthetic oils such as vegetable oil and polyester oil etc.
Cosmetics.
Sealants and adhesive.
Using
It can be added directly in powder under high shear condition. Addition level is commonly 0.1%~1.0% (7%-10% in greases) of total formulation by weight. Polar activator is required to achieve better performance. The addition procedure is suggested as below.
Add resin in solvent.
Add CP-MP under slow agitation.
Disperse under high speed for 10-15 minutes.
Add polar activator (95% ethanol or 95% acetone)
Disperse under high speed for 10-15 minutes.
Add wetting agent and other additive.
Grinding and next procedure.
If to make pre-gel, better efficiency can be achieved. Addition level in pre-gel is 8%-10% of total pre-gel in weight. Pre-gel procedure is as below.
Add solvent or solvent mixture.
Add CP-MP under slow agitation.
Disperse under high speed for 5-10 minutes.
Add polar activator.
Disperse under high speed for 10-15 minutes.
Polar activator is suggested to be ethanol/water (95/5)or acetone/water (95/5). Dosage of polar activator is about 30%-40% of CP-MP by weight.
